We (that’s me and the Holy spirit) have been working towards the construction of a model of the interior of the Earth which fully integrates every possible way that hell or the afterlife is referred to in the Bible.
Alongside the recurrent distraction of figuring out how to use gravitational time dilation to prove the Bible, there’s another reference in Ezekiel which either proves our model or contradicts it, depending on whether you use deduction or induction.
We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.

Our model of the interior of the earth began with the creation of gravity on the 2nd day and the accumulation of heavy atomic weight elements in the core. The third day saw the establishment of a hydrological cycle which drew the waters of the deep into the mostly hollow interior of the earth. The fall of man caused nuclear decay to begin and the core of the earth melted. This drove off the waters of the deep and left behind open space which Jesus described as a great gulf. I have gone to great lengths to build this model with great care and attention to the scriptures.
However, it is also based on an interpretation of seismological data which we will get to in detail when the time comes. The difference between Matty’s Paradigm and the popular science model is that the liquid outer core is open space. Other than that it is the same 4 regions of: crust, mantle, great gulf (outer core) and hell (inner core). The continued expansion of hell is a predictive testable hypothesis based on ocean warming data.
Be that as it may we have endeavored to find a way to incorporate what the Bible says about the afterlife into our physical model. The context here is that the human soul is eternal, and this is the reason for our predicament. Eternal souls which have a sin nature cannot exist in the presence of a Holy God. The way that we are cleansed and made Holy is through the blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus walked upon the earth after about 4,000 years of history had passed and the souls of all those who died before him were in the interior of the earth – the nether parts of the earth. We can understand that the eternal outcome of heaven or the lake of fire was pictured in the separation of sheol from the pit. Sheol was a place where those who believed in God waited for the coming of the messiah, the pit was where those that were lost awaited final judgement.
Faith is believing in something that you can’t see, because of evidence.

We are constructing a broad narrative which is consistent with all of scripture, all physical evidence and all empirical observation.
So why did Asshur go into the sides of the pit and others in Ezekiel’s prophecy went into the pit? Why did Elam go into the nether parts of the earth, but bore their shame with those that go down into the pit? These are the kinds of things that we could argue about until the Lord returns. The fact is, though, that the sides of the pit is identifiable as a physical place in our model. We can attempt to induce an interpretation which refutes an otherwise comprehensive and fully integrated model, or we can use deduction to conclude that we are being told something about Asshur and Elam that we haven’t figured out yet.
Such as it is I think we have now incorporated everything into our model which needs to be in it. And as soon as I publish this I will probably realize that I’m wrong.
