For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
(Romans 6:23) KJV
The corrupted state of creation isn’t the consequence of sin, it’s how sin can be possible. This then is our predicament: we live in a corrupted world and we have free will to be as evil as we want. What’s to stop us from being as evil as we can?
But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
(Romans 3:21-23) NKJV
The only restraint on us is the power of the Holy Spirit to convict our conscience that our actions have consequences. That’s why we have guilt. We’ve all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, that’s why we need a savior.
Salvation
- Call upon the name of Jesus Christ,
- believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
- confess your sin.

The fall of man and the corrupted state of creation aren’t the same thing. The universe had to be created in a corrupted state so that the fall of man could take place.
