The Windows of Heaven

In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened.

(Genesis 7:11) ESV

The windows of heaven are described in scripture as physical structures which may be opened or closed. This is possible because the firmament is a sphere of rigid crystal on the edge of space.

The firmament is the source of Iridium which has been deposited in a layer all over the world to coincide with the time that the rain from heaven was cut off, showering the Earth with Iridium, shocked Quarts and rolled glass beads. It’s called the Iridium Anomaly.

The reason why Iridium is thought to be of extraterrestrial origin is because of its relative rarity on Earth compared to in meteorites. If meteorites are fragments of crystalline firmament material (CFM) then it’s evidence that the firmament contains Iridium.

This brings up another problem for Creationism because they don’t have a crystalline firmament. They’re interpreting the Word of God from within the SciPop cosmological model, but the purpose of the SciPop cosmological model is to make the Bible look impossible, so it’s a mystery as to why Creationists are so protective of it.

Is the iridium anomaly evidence of an extraterrestrial impact? It doesn’t have to be, and we can allow the Biblical narrative to account for it.

It’s also possible to conclude that the windows of heaven are what SciPop refers to as quasars. Quasars are stars which are much brighter and much larger than anything else, they’re all about the same distance away in every direction, and even astronomers can be found describing them as being on the edge of space.

The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;

(Genesis 8:2) KJV

What does it mean that the windows of heaven were stopped? It means that they were closed. If they’re made of crystal like the rest of the firmament, and they were rolled horizontally to allow water to flow through the firmament, then rolling them back into place would be an ideal way to produce a sower of fragments of shocked quartz and weathered glass beads.

We now have a provenance for Iridium, shocked quartz and weathered glass beads which make up the Iridium anomaly: the firmament, specifically the windows of heaven. Provenance is a fancy geological word for source. We also have a reason why the Iridium layer was not the last thing that was deposited, which is why it’s not at the top of the stratigraphic column: the Cenozoic. The sediment deposited below and above the Iridium layer is all part of Noah’s flood.
