Gall as a Cause

Beware lest there be among you a man or woman or clan or tribe whose heart is turning away today from the Lord our God to go and serve the gods of those nations. Beware lest there be among you a root bearing poisonous and bitter fruit, one who, when he hears the words of this sworn covenant, blesses himself in his heart, saying, ‘I shall be safe, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart.’ This will lead to the sweeping away of moist and dry alike. The Lord will not be willing to forgive him, but rather the anger of the Lord and his jealousy will smoke against that man, and the curses written in this book will settle upon him, and the Lord will blot out his name from under heaven.

(Deuteronomy 29:18-20) ESV

Gall can be brazen boldness coupled with impudent assurance and insolence. Someone heard the Bible being preached but decided that they’re immune. Their attitude was that it’s irrelevant and doesn’t refer to them.

This is the prevailing attitude of many today. People have the gall to dismiss God as a human creation which is part of the psychological baggage of the uneducated. The word gall is used to express this state of mind because of the consequences that it leads to. This is gall as a cause.

We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.

Matty’s Razor

Gall of this kind has been institutionalized in the form of the popular science narrative of godless existence (SciPop). It’s the strong delusion. Secular humanism is puffed up with its own brilliance at being able to figure out that, of all the infinite worlds it’s imagined, our Earth just happens to have the perfect conditions to allow the development of organic life. That’s an example of causal gall: bold, impudent behavior.

The irony is that God designed the Earth for the express purpose of supporting organic life, and sequestered away enough toxic pollutants to allow life to thrive. At least until such a time as it won’t matter any more.

      1. As is your pitiful squirming. If you can’t handle the truth why are you commenting? If you don’t believe in God then why are you trolling Christian sites? You appear to be a theocentric atheist. A walking contradiction. Good luck with that.

      2. That’s only because you’re blind. What happens when you can show that science and the Bible are in perfect harmony?
Atheism isn’t intellectually viable. It looks like your logical fallacy has been exposed.

      3. I don’t think it’s asking too much that when you tell somebody you have exposed their fallacy, you actually base that on something they said. Most thoughtful people can manage that. That includes competent apologists and sincere Christians. For you, it is too much. Got it!
