Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 4:4-7) ESV
We (that’s me and the Holy Spirit) recently had a Twitter exchange with someone who resented God for their very existence. We got nowhere trying to encourage them to be thankful.
But we’re thankful! We’re praising the Lord for his miraculous provision! Life has taken some unexpected turns recently and one of the most unexpected is the opportunity to have fun blogging and expressing ourselves.
Life doesn’t have to be a infernal slog of misery. It can be quite fun. Hang in there folks. Life doesn’t just get better, it gets fantastic! And then you can have everlasting life too! How about that for a way to stop worrying about all of the chaos and confusion in the world?
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(John 3:16) KJV
Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died on the cross at Calvary so that we can have everlasting life. WHY? We’re all sinners who have come under the judgement of a righteous God. We can’t undo any of the bad things we’ve done, or make up for them. The only hope we have is to be forgiven. This is why we need Jesus Christ.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
(Romans 10:9-10) KJV
Salvation
- Call upon the name of Jesus Christ,
- believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
- confess your sin.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
(Ephesians 2:8-9) KJV
