But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. On that Day the heavens will disappear with a shrill noise, the heavenly bodies will burn up and be destroyed, and the earth with everything in it will vanish. Since all these things will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people should you be? Your lives should be holy and dedicated to God, as you wait for the Day of God and do your best to make it come soon—the Day when the heavens will burn up and be destroyed, and the heavenly bodies will be melted by the heat.(2 Peter 3:10-12) Good News Translation
A lot of things can go wrong during a golf swing but my question is: where does the swing begin? For me the swing began at Minehead Golf Club in West Somerset, England.
It’s one end of Minehead Bay, the other end is the harbour. I spent a lot of time at the golf course before I ever golfed there. The sand dunes along the back nine, between the beach of smooth rocks the size of your head on one side and the links course on the other, were a local attraction. A hangout for kids, it was the place where I smoked pot for the first time.
We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.– Matty’s Razor
But back to the swing. Where does it begin? Where’s that point between the back swing and the swing? If you pause at the top of the swing, is it okay to hold the club there, aim it carefully, then begin the stroke?
Using the analogy of rubber bands stretching out and snapping back, should we progress from the back swing to the swing like that? Like elastic?
There’s more than one way to find answers. One would be to do research. We could, for example, do a Google search on golf swings and see what comes up. We could learn everything that Google wants us to know about golf swings. However this leaves out two very important categories of information.
- What Google doesn’t know,
- what Google doesn’t want you to know.
Faith is believing in something that you can’t see, because of evidence.– Faith, definition
The best approach may be to try it for ourselves and see what we can figure out. The question that someone should be asking bout now is, what does this have to do with God and gravity? We’re glad that you asked.
You may or may not be aware that there’s a unified theory of everything. “Everything” includes first cause, time, gravitation, electromagnetism, consciousness and redemption. Yes, redemption. It’s the physics behind a ridiculously simple fact of life: salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ and no other. We (that’s me and the Holy spirit) can resolve the plan of redemption and salvation through faith in Jesus Christ with Newton’s second law of motion F=MA.
Part of Matty’s Paradigm is theory of gravitation in which the source of gravity for the entire universe is at the center of the Earth. Time has stopped at the center, which is why it’s called a singularity, and time passes at a rate proportional to the square of your distance from the source. On the surface of the Earth a day is 24 hours. In the remote regions of the cosmos a thousand years will pass in the same amount of time.
How does this get to golf? Another good question. Gravity is thought. The act of thinking, or concentrating, is like holding on to a thought. It generates a gravitational field. God’s original thought, of the existence of the universe, is the power which sustains the present system of gravitation. We may be able to understand our minds well enough that holding on to a thought could influence how our gravitational field interacts with other bodies. Maybe be even golf balls.
Can we use our understanding of Biblical gravitation to become good at golf?
