Brightness Before and Darkness Under

He bowed the heavens and came down;
thick darkness was under his feet.
He rode on a cherub and flew;
he came swiftly on the wings of the wind.
He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him,
thick clouds dark with water.
Out of the brightness before him
hailstones and coals of fire broke through his clouds.

(Psalms 18:9-12 & 2 Samuel 22:10-13) English Standard Version

We have to account for a passage in Psalm 18 where the Bible tells us that God is in both 1) thick darkness and 2) has brightness before Him, at the same time and in the same context.

There are several other passages of scripture which are descriptions of heaven, or pieces of heaven, being rigid crystalline structures. We call it crystalline firmament materiel (CFM).

We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.

Matty’s Razor

  1. And darkness was under his feet,
    • He made darkness his secret place,
    • his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.
  2. At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed.

How can there be darkness under his feet and brightness before him at the same time? We’re talking about two dimensions.

  1. Vertical: Under his feet is down.
  2. Horizontal: Brightness before him is in front, beside or around him.

If the firmament is made of material that shines brightly, but that is hidden from below by a layer of black on its inner concave surface, then that’s how how brightness can be before God and there can be darkness under his feet at the same time.

We have a physical model that accounts for the fact that God’s heaven is a place where there’s no need of the sun for light, but that he also made darkness his secret place.
