The Fall

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

(Genesis 3:1-7) KJV

The fall of man was an effect. The cause was disobedience. We (that’s me and the Holy spirit) develop a coherent narrative and harmonize scripture with science because we understand the relationship of cause and effect.

It Was Very Good

Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

(Genesis 1:31) NKJV

We should be very clear about a key aspect of the Matty’s Paradigm premise: The fall of man isn’t the fall of creation: the universe was created in a fallen state. The fall of man was when Adam and Eve realized the truth.

Handling the Word of God

Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

(2 Corinthians 4:1-2) NKJV

We (that’s me and the Holy spirit) have developed a paradigm which allows us to use physical evidence and empirical observations to confirm the truth: Jesus Christ is the light.

Gamaliel’s Counsel

And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

(Acts 5:38-39) KJV

Today we (that’s me and the Holy spirit) are going to review some different forms of evidence for the existence of God with emphasis on one in particular: Gamaliel’s Counsel, Hypothesis 12.

Earnestly Contend

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

( Jude 1:3-4 )

Most people quote this passage as an exhortation to faith and good works among Christians. it is naturally fitting for the day in which we live because far from having crept in unawares, the denial of the Lord Jesus Christ is now mainstream. This passage is really a precursor to the next paragraph, which is a much more stark description of the consequences of denying Jesus Christ:

I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

( Jude 1:5-7 )

The reason why I think that this is appropriate today is that we are wrapping up the discussion of the six days of creation. We will shortly begin the discussion of the following six thousand years of decay which began at the fall of man in Genesis 3. There is an eerie symmetry to this, if we consider for a moment another oft misquoted passage from Psalms 90:

For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

( Psalms 90:4 )

Here it is again, rendered with fervent intensity by Peter:

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

( 2 Peter 3:8 )

Be not ignorant in this one thing. One of the many reasons why atheists mock Christians is that Christians have been preaching the return of Christ for about the last 2,000 years. Christ has not returned yet. The obvious conclusion is that he’s not coming, so shut up about it.

So here’s how the symmetry works out which should give us cause to buck up and pay attention: God created for six days and of the seventh day he rested. We are going to state that these were actual days of 24 hours because each one is associated with an evening and a morning. This was the creative part of creation. The decay and collapse of creation is happening because God is allowing the physical systems which he created, bound by the laws of thermodynamics and entropy, to run their courses. If God allocated 1,000 years to the decay of creation for each day that he spent creating it, that would give a total time span for this world of 7,000 years. We are currently at the 6,000 year mark. The reason why this is interesting is because we know that there is something prophesied for the future called the Millennial Kingdom. This is when Jesus Christ returns to the earth to establish his kingdom, and he will rule the earth for 1,000 years.

7,000 years minus 1,000 years is 6,000 years.

Time’s up.

Mainstream Science (SciPop) is Bankrupt

Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

(Acts 17:22-23) KJV

Newton, Einstein and others built theoretical physics as a perpetual motion machine where gravity causes spacetime to cause gravity. It’s an example of circular reasoning where effect is its own cause.

A Girded Mind

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

(1 Peter 1:13)

There are no coincidences, there’s only the working of God’s will. This week I became debt free and I acquired a vehicle for use as a Uber driver which is a significant improvement upon the one I had, which, just for extra security, I still have. I’ve been established.

Vegetarian Silurian?

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

(Genesis 3:1) NKJV

What was the serpent in the garden of Eden? Some say Satan, but this isn’t possible nor is it a conclusion that we can deduce. We (that’s me and the Holy spirit) propose that the serpent in Genesis 3 was a bipedal reptilian humanoid.

You Shall Surely Die

Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

(Genesis 2:15-17) NKJV

“In the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Adam didn’t drop dead the moment that he ate the fruit, a possible meaning of the text. He lived for 900+ years. Is this a contradiction?

Hold Fast

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

( Hebrews 4:14 )

So supposedly I was destroyed by a YouTuber. The funny thing is I don’t feel destroyed. I feel exactly the same as I did before I had even heard of that particular YouTuber. Do you know why? Because I wasn’t destroyed. What happened was that someone disagreed with me and made a video about disagreeing with me.

There is a simple reason why this is not a problem: my work is based upon the Word of God. I started with a simple premise: God cannot lie. If God cannot lie, but the Bible and science appear, at least superficially, to tell completely different stories about the origin of the earth, then science is always wrong. It doesn’t matter how many YouTubers want to go on record as saying the opposite: that science is right and the Bible is wrong. It’s sadly irrelevant. It’s sad because they have taken a stand which puts them in opposition against God, but that’s their problem, not mine.

The passage which I frequently refer to as being a Biblical expression of the truth that God cannot lie is in Paul’s letter to Titus:

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

( Titus 1:1-2 )

It is interesting that this is stated again with even more veracity in Hebrews:

That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

( Hebrews 6:18-20 )

Two immutable things?

  1. Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil,
  2. Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

It is impossible for God to lie, therefore we have hope that the soul will enter into the veil, because Jesus Christ has already entered.

So Titus and Hebrews both tell us that it is impossible for God to lie. It’s interesting that atheists love to spout their superficial propaganda that if God cannot lie then he obviously isn’t omnipotent. What they haven’t grasped is that God had to created a physical system in which lying was possible in order to manifest free will, but he is outside, beyond and not limited by this system.

This gets me a little closer to the issue of the day: lying.

The YouTuber who supposedly destroyed me made a video so long and tedious that I only made it through about 1/3 of it, and that was a struggle. I have been pondering whether or not I owe it to him to watch the whole thing? On one hand, if I don’t watch it then I can’t respond to it point by point, and I won’t know if there is anything substantive in it which may have merit. This also gives him cause to say something along the lines of me being scared and unwilling to face the reality of his intellectual superiority.

The fact is I’m not scared enough to force myself to watch the video, because there’s nothing to be scared of. God cannot lie, it is impossible for God to lie. God had to create a whole creation just to make it possible for US to lie. Therefore the Bible is true and popular science is wrong. So here’s what I decided: The YouTuber who supposedly destroyed me may be the first but he will not be the last. I would imagine that if God allows the social media reach of Matty’s Paradigm to increase they will become fairly frequent. So how do I plan to handle this? Given that nothing any of them can say can change God, His Word, or the truth? I took another quick look at the video to collect some data:

  1. In the video the host described my blog as stupid at the 15 second mark,
  2. The host starts lying at the 1 minute 42 second mark.

I think I’ll watch any commentary video about me up to the first lie. That’s all.
