Biblical Cosmology

There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.

(1 Corinthians 15:40-41) KJV

Based on our first Principle, God Can’t Lie and the Bible is True, it must be possible to use the Bible to deduce an accurate model of the cosmos. We’re not talking about the Star Trek universe of the popular science paradigm (SciPop).

Earth is the Center of the Observable Universe

The sun and moon stood still in their habitation: at the light of thine arrows they went, and at the shining of thy glittering spear.

(Habakkuk 3:11) KJV

Axiom III is “Earth is the Center of the Observable Universe.” We can deduce Principle I from the following physical evidence, empirical observations or established theories which are part of Axiom III.

The Universe is Made From the Components of Water

The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

(Genesis 1:2-3) NKJV

Axiom I is “The Universe is Made From the Components of Water.” We can deduce Principle I from the following physical evidence, empirical observations or established theories which are part of Axiom I.

The Induced Axioms of Mainstream Science

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

(2 Thessalonians 2:9-12) NKJV

Yesterday we looked at definitions of axioms, corollaries and principles. We’ve diagnosed the five inherent flaws in the theoretical foundation of popular science (SciPop), its supposed axioms. They are:

Axioms

Dolphin looks like it's smiling

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,

(2 Timothy 4:3) ESV

Axiom (law): a statement or proposition that is regarded as being 1) established, 2) accepted, or 3) self-evidently true. The law in physics is actually same as axiom in mathematics.

– Axiom (law), definition

The axioms of Principia Mattymatica are (1) established and (3) self-evidently true. They aren’t (2) accepted because they’re in deliberate defiance of peer review*.

Principia Mathematica

There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the Spirit of the Holy God. And in the days of your father, light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him; and King Nebuchadnezzar your father—your father the king—made him chief of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers.

(Daniel 5:11) NKJV

Some time ago while studying Newton’s Principia Mathematica it struck us that it would be funny and ironic to write a parody called Principia Mattymatica, the Mattymatical principles of natural theology.

Is Simple Still Best?

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

(John 8:31-32) NKJV

If we’re supposed to accept the hypothesis with the fewest assumptions, lets compare how many assumptions have been made in the popular science paradigm (SciPop) vs. Matty’s Paradigm.

Who do not Believe

O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge—by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith. Grace be with you. Amen.

(1 Timothy 6:20-21) NKJV

What you believe is a choice. The way that this works in the case of our YouTuber is that he’s made a choice of paradigm. He believes in popular science (SciPop), which, among other things, is a set of axioms which you have to accept in order for the paradigm to be true.
