Synapomorphy or Sinapomorphy?

May 7

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

(Romans 5:12) KJV

We’re working towards the classification of Dragons. This means that we have to understand what classification systems are and how they are derived.

Hell: αδη – Hadés

And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

(Luke 16:23) KJV

We’ve made an extensive study of the ways in which the interior of the Earth is described in Old Testament Hebrew, but how is it described in New Testament Greek? The doctrine isn’t as well developed but it overlaps harmoniously.

The Gates of Hell

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

(Matthew 16:17-19) KJV

Setting us Free

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

(Romans 8:2) KJV

As we continue down our rabbit hole into the confluence of gravitation and redemption it’s going to be helpful to think in terms of gravity, weight and weightlessness. The word redeem has some meaning to this effect.

States of Being

And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

(Colossians 2:13) KJV

Paul wrote to people who were metabolically alive and told them that they were previously dead, but now they’re alive. Clearly he’s not talking about biological death, he’s talking about their souls. We’ve identified two states of the soul:

  1. Alive (quickened),
  2. dead.
