Corollary VIII – Matty’s Parallax

Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?

(Isaiah 40:12) KJV

We challenged people to prove heliocentricity daily for 5 years. Most people didn’t get beyond their incredulity. Those who did used to rush of to Google, do a quick search, then posted the first search result.

Discouragement

A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

(Isaiah 42:3-4) KJV

We asked the question: is depression in the Bible? The word depression doesn’t occur, but the medical condition must surely be mentioned since pastors and preachers for generations have told us that the Bible covers all life situations.

A Spirit of Heaviness

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

(Isaiah 61:3) KJV

Is depression in the Bible? If you go to church, particularly a conservative one where the Bible is preached and taught, you’ve probably heard a preacher say something like: “every life situation you can imagine is in the Bible.” It may be stated as this way:

“Whatever you’re facing in life, whatever you’re dealing with, whatever your personal struggles are, they’re all in the Bible. The Bible is where you can go to find help and comfort for whatever you’re dealing with.”

– Widely promoted Christian belief

What about depression? Is depression in the Bible?

Monotremes

Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.

(Isaiah 42:10) KJV

Australia was part of Pangaea for 101 years after Noah’s flood. That’s how Monotremes got there. If you’ve been vexing Creationists with the issue of Australia’s unique fauna: time’s up, find a new game. Sing a new song.

Hell From Beneath is Moved for Thee

Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.

(Isaiah 14:9) KJV

Here we see the implication that hell expands in anticipation of the arrival of new souls. This could be the result of the prior arrival of other souls causing an increase in gravitational attraction of the core which causes an increase in the amount of inner mantle material that is being pulled in, which increases the gravitational force of the core.

Hell hath Enlarged Herself

Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.

(Isaiah 5:14) KJV

It appears that the expansion of hell is due, at least in part, to the addition of human souls. However it also contains the implication that hell has expanded in anticipation of the arrival of new souls.

Milestones

Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

(Matthew 17:19-21) KJV

Seraphim

In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

(Isaiah 6:1-8) KJV

Artistic renderings of Seraphim consistently miss the fact that they’re reptilian. Their physical characteristics will have implications for us when we consider the terrestrial serpents that were created on the 6th day.

The Host of Heaven

Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.

(Nehemiah 9:6) KJV

The heaven of heavens is the firmament (third heaven). The “the host of heaven,” is everything above the atmosphere. We (that’s me and the Holy spirit) discern between heavenly bodies (inanimate) and entities (sentient).
