Their Thoughts Were Evil

Noah built an altar to the Lord; he took one of each kind of ritually clean animal and bird, and burned them whole as a sacrifice on the altar. The universe was created as a way to purify all of the corruption out of the world, and this is being brought about through the action of gravity. No one wants you to know this. Why?

Characteristics of the Heart

The anger of the LORD will not turn back Until He has executed and performed the thoughts of His heart. In the latter days you will understand it perfectly.

In the Bible the heart does a lot more thinking than our minds do. This runs counter to conventional medical wisdom about the brain and heart, but are we worried about running counter to convention?

Separation of Heart and Mind

One aspect of the soul is the heart which is, among other things, our drive and motivation. Another aspect of the soul is the mind which is our ability to reason. Physically the heart is a pump that drives blood, the mind is a brain.

Thoughts and Intents

And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few. And his armourbearer said unto him, Do all that is in thine heart: turn thee; behold, I am with thee according to thy heart.

We can sort the characteristics of the heart into thoughts and Intents and expand our understanding of Who Am I? Thoughts, quite naturally, stay in the mind. Intents are when we’re driven or motivated to act. We may or may not carry out the act, but it was an intent.

Desires of Thine Heart

Can a desire of the heart be a godly thing? How can we have a godly desire if we’re told a) not to covet and b) that our optimal state of mind should be contentment?
