At the beginning of October we were challenged regarding the statement we make which is the beginning of our deductive process:

Immanuel Velikovsky (1895-1979) reconciled science with the Bible as an atheist. His name is universally scorned but not because he was wrong, because no one wanted to hear what he had to say.

An Anchor of the Soul

That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

June 25th

You Shall Surely Die

Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

(Genesis 2:15-17) NKJV

“In the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Adam didn’t drop dead the moment that he ate the fruit, a possible meaning of the text. He lived for 900+ years. Is this a contradiction?
