The weapons we use in our fight are not the world’s weapons but God’s powerful weapons, which we use to destroy strongholds. We destroy false arguments; we pull down every proud obstacle that is raised against the knowledge of God; we take every thought captive and make it obey Christ.(2 Corinthians 10:4-5) Good News Translation
The beauty of math, and the reason why it is the best recipe for fudge in the universe, is that it proves that a geocentrospheric model is possible.
The most significant issue which we (that’s me and the Holy spirit) have to resolve in Geocentrospheric Devolutionary Creation (GDC) is heliocentricity – the model of our solar system that describes the Earth and planets orbiting the sun. This is an issue because gravity was created on the second day. The Earth formed around a point in space, which, if you want to be thoroughly modern, is called a singularity. Later in creation, on the fourth day, God created the sun, moon and stars and set them on their courses orbiting the Earth.
We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.– Matty’s Razor
This is the most uncomfortable aspect of belief in an inerrant Bible because it appears to put the Bible at odds with the whole of mainstream science (SciPop). Forget evolution, that’s a minor problem in comparison. This is the biggie, and when we get to this point in our exposition we start to feel slightly foolish and begin to wonder if we’re on the wrong track. However, if we double down and believe, in faith, that the Bible is indeed the inerrant Word of God, it will be seen that the Bible, not SciPop, is right after all.
As unpleasant as it may be we have to get to grips with the mathematical basis for why we believe that the Earth orbits the sun. Surprisingly even this is not that difficult to unravel. According to current wisdom, we know the distance to the sun and its mass. When we push to understand where these numbers come from we find something rather interesting:
- It’s not possible to directly measure the distance to the sun using radar. We use radar to measure the distance to Venus at its greatest elongation, then use geometry to calculate the distance to the sun.
- It’s not possible to weigh the sun. We use math to calculate its mass based on what we believe the mass of the Earth to be. This calculation produces a result which is determined by what assumption we use in the calculation.
Most people believe that the heliocentric model of the solar system is derived from studying the motions of the planets and then using math. This is a false assumption. The truth is that heliocentricity was assumed first, A priori and then the math is applied to that assumption.
For example: if we assume that the Earth orbits the sun, then the sun must have sufficient mass to hold the Earth (known mass) in an orbit with known radius and duration. The calculation combines Newton’s law of gravity and Kepler’s 3rd law of planetary motion to give us a value for the mass of the sun.
How massive would the Sun have to be in order to..– The logic used to calculate the mass of the sun.
.. hold the Earth (of known mass)*
.. in orbit (of known radius and duration)?
The main argument against a Geocentrospheric model is that a large mass (the sun) could not orbit a small mass (the Earth). However, this is a false argument as the calculation which makes the sun the large mass is based on assuming heliocentricity. In a Geocentrospheric model the mass of the sun is calculated by assuming that the sun orbits the Earth. This produces a much smaller mass value. This doesn’t just affect the sun, but now since the paradigm has changed, the mass values of all of the other planets must be recalculated.
How massive is the Sun..– Matty
