The Third Trumpet/Vial
And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
(Revelation 8:10-11) KJV
And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood. And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy. And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.
(Revelation 16:4-7) KJV
The third trumpet is a 3rd plague which involves large quantities of material falling out of the sky. The stars fall from heaven as the continents are moved into a contiguous landmass.
The land is protected from the majority of the falling stellar material, but, for reasons that God understands even though we may not, it’s necessary to pollute a large portion of the fresh water. As the passage clearly states, this is retribution on the people of the Earth because of they way that they treated the saints and prophets.
We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.
– Matty’s Razor
This hearkens back to the time of the Exodus when the Lord turned all of the rivers of Egypt into blood. We could make the case that the plagues of Exodus and Revelation, where the rivers of water were turned into blood, was due to the fall of ferruginous dust or other material. That’s what Velikovsky would do. Frankly, it’s beside the point.
And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone.
(Exodus 7:19) KJV
Unlike some of the other plagues of Revelation this one doesn’t appear to be prophesied elsewhere is scripture. Perhaps the fact that it, or something like it, happened before in history is the reason why it wasn’t necessary for the prophets to write about it.
