David and Goliath

When the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet the Philistine. And David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone and slung it and struck the Philistine on his forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the ground.

(1 Samuel 17:48-49) ESV

We (that’s me and the Holy spirit) deduced that God created gravity on the second day. The implications are profound. David and Goliath is a fitting metaphor: We just killed theoretical Physics. You’re welcome.

Ever since Sir Isaac Newton mainstream science (SciPop) has been developed from the belief that gravity is a property of mass. In this scenario, matter, space, time and gravity are all bound up together in the essential nature of what we’re made of.

We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.

Matty’s Razor

Einstein incorporated subatomic physics. The basic idea, that gravity is proportional to mass, didn’t change but Einstein showed that space and time are factors which contribute to the total energy of a body. This gives us a way to account for the observed proportional relationship between mass and gravity, but since we don’t know the cause of gravity it’s circumstantial evidence. It also meant that we had to refer to mass, matter and energy with the concept of space-time.

If the first day, and all time preceding it, was devoid of gravity but mass existed as water in space, the deep, then there’s no causal relationship between mass and gravity. Theoretical Physics is dead in its tracks right there. So what is gravity and where does it come from?

We have to go back to a basic understanding of cause and effect. The gravitational constant G, for instance, is what it is: a measurement of the attractive force between two bodies. However, if the attractive force isn’t caused by the mass of the body, then it must be imparted to the body by something else.

Faith is believing in something that you can’t see, because of evidence.

– Faith, definition

We deduced that gravity, whatever it may be, was created in the deep which became spherical. Heavy particles sank and accumulated around a singularity and became the body of planet Earth. Light particles were displaced outward and crystallized to become the firmament. What could cause this to happen? We have to deduce a new law of gravitation which is consistent with all empirical observations and experimental findings about the behavior of gravity, which incorporates what we know about the sub-atomic action of gravity, but which is congruent with the Biblical narrative.

In a gravitational field water becomes spherical. What if the gravitational field is what imparts gravitational attraction to the body? This means that gravity is a field which is being emitted from the singularity at the center of the earth. Every particle in the field has an attractive force imparted to it by the field which is proportional to its mass. We can take the relationship of cause and effect and combine it with Newton’s law of gravitation to make a Biblical law of gravitation.

Gravity (A) is a field emitted from a created instance (a singularity) which causes a body to have attractive force (p) proportional to its mass and inversely proportional to the square of its distance from the source (pG).

G is the gravitational constant. This is a general physical law derived from empirical observations by using deduction.

Salvation

  1. Call upon the name of Jesus Christ,
    • believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
  2. confess your sin.

Our passage today is one of the times that a Hebrew word for gravity, taba, occurs in the Bible. David slung a stone at the head of Goliath and gravity, taba, caused it to sink down into his skull and kill him instantly. It’s an example of a gravity assist. Gravity is a mode of action of the will of God. God caused a pulse of gravity, a gravitational wave, to be emitted from inside Goliath’s head at the moment David slung his stone. With a Biblical Law of Gravitation, even miracles have a physical explanation.
