Clouds and thick darkness are all around him;(Psalms 97:2) English Standard Version
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
God gave us free will so that believing in Him is a choice. If proof of God was in plain sight then there’s no free will. God covered the proof of his presence, the firmament, as part of the plan of redemption.
The firmament is part of the broad narrative of separating light from darkness, good from evil. Something had to happen so that the firmament wouldn’t be visible from below but above it would continue to be a realm of brilliant light. In order for God to proceed on the fourth day: creating the sun moon and stars; the sky had to be made black. However, the firmament couldn’t lose its brightness, that would defeat the purpose of having it.
We all have the same evidence. Our choice of paradigm determines what we think it’s evidence of.– Matty’s Razor
And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.(Daniel 12:3) King James Version
God hid himself from view by clothing the inner surface of the firmament in blackness. It’s not poetic or metaphorical. During the month of April we’ll deduce a physical process by which God blackened the inner surface of the firmament in a way that’s congruent with Bowen’s reaction series. It’s Hypothesis 31.
I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.(Isaiah 50:3) KJV
This is why darkness came upon the Earth at the end of the third day but heaven was still full of light. However, one passage of scripture isn’t enough to develop a doctrine. This interpretation must be consistent with the broad narrative of scripture. The way that doctrines develop is usually that there’s at least one place that states an idea explicitly, and numerous other passages which develop it and weave it into the broad narrative.
In Matty’s Paradigm we also need to deduce a physical process which causes the phenomenon, is consistent with the broad narrative of scripture, and obeys all physical laws.
Throughout April we (that’s me and the Holy spirit) will pick our way through the mainstream science (SciPop) train wreck called astronomy and see why it tells a story about our universe which is completely different to what the Bible says. We’ll look at the data SciPop uses and how SciPop uses it. We’ll find that empirical observations and experimental data support the cosmological model of the Bible.
