Stoicheia tou Kosmou

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

The periodic table of elements is an example of stoichiometry. Considering the use of the word stoicheia in Colossians 2:8, we can do some simple deduction based on Genesis 1:2 and resolve the Holy Trinity as a chemical formula.

Having identified Sophia Proton, wisdom first, as the first elemental particle, but given that she literally dropped in our lap as we were conducting a routine review of Greek in preparation for a sermon on an unrelated subject, it wasn’t easy to see how to proceed with our investigation of how the Bible encodes the fundamental physics of the universe.

Until, that was, the next piece of the puzzle also dropped in our lap. In this case it was from reading a blog post written by Rob Tennant of Hillside Church in Chapel Hill, NC. Rob uses the RSV (revised standard version) which we’re unfamiliar with. The thing that caught our eye was the translation of Colossians 2:8.

Elemental spirits? Elements we understand from chemistry. Spirit means breath or wind. There’s a note about this verse at Biblehub.com which, for some reason, doesn’t include the RSV in its available resources:

One of a row, a letter (of the alphabet): στοιχεῖα – stoicheia

• one of a row, a letter (of the alphabet), the elements (of knowledge)
  • (a) plur: the heavenly bodies,
  • (b) a rudiment, an element, a rudimentary principle, an elementary rule.
• properly, fundamentals, like with the basic components of a philosophy, structure, etc.; (figuratively) “first principles,” like the basic fundamentals of Christianity.

The RSV however renders stoixeia as “elemental spirits,” i.e. spiritual powers or “cosmic spirits”. This views /stoixeíon (“elements”) as ancient astral beings associated with the very beginning (make-up) of the earth.

Stoicheia is where we get the word stoichiometry, a technical term with some very specific applications. The periodic table is an application of stoichiometry.

Stoichiometry is

1: a branch of chemistry that deals with the application of the laws of definite proportions and of the conservation of mass and energy to chemical activity.

2 a : the quantitative relationship between constituents in a chemical substance; b : the quantitative relationship between two or more substances especially in processes involving physical or chemical change

Back to the elemental spirits, ancient astral beings associated with the very beginning of the Earth. Sounds like someone’s been watching too much Star Trek. But then again… What if we take this literally, at face value, as an application of Hypothesis 22? What may look like random pieces from several different puzzles actually fit together and give us a plan for the particle physics of the universe. We’re going to combine protons (Hydrogen) and elemental spirits with the deep.

• IF the deep in Genesis 1:2 is a body of water which predates creation composed of Hydrogen and Oxygen,
  • AND we have concluded that wisdom is pure protons, the first elemental particle,
• THEN what could the second elemental particle be but Oxygen?

• If wisdom is pure protons (H⁺)
  • and the Holy Spirit is Oxygen (O^2-)
• then their combination is what gives us the deep: 2H⁺ + O^2- = H₂O.

This is a lot to take in, but we’re waking up to the fact that the Bible has a key to understand the physics of the universe including the origin and nature of gender, first cause, logic, nucleosynthesis, the periodic table and gravity, among other things. What’s intriguing is that we’re only going to be able to deduce it if we allow ourselves to start from the original languages and consider the many ways in which the words have been translated. The version which aligns with our hypothesis is the one which we’ll use. This is no time to be dogmatic and insist on using a specific version, that doesn’t seem to be how the Holy Spirit works.

It’s a little like Neo in Matrix Reloaded when he finds himself in a long hallway with a row of doors on either side. Back doors. This is where God has placed access to knowledge of the physics of the universe. If the foundation of the world is technically an act of conception and childbirth, then the male parent is Hydrogen, the female parent is omega Oxygen. Their fusion is how the Son was begotten as the deep.
