Noah’s Deduction

To Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.

(Genesis 10:25) NKJV

Animals spread out from the site of Noah’s ark and people spread out from Babel. Then something caused tectonic plates to form, Pangaea broke apart, and the continents moved into their present locations.

Peleg’s Tectonics

The breakup of Pangaea had to be after Noah’s flood to account for the distribution of biodiversity. It’s how the monotremes got to Australia.

If they were able to get to areas which are presently isolated as continents and islands, then deduction causes us to conclude that those areas were once connected. Clearly the events took place in a discernible sequence.

Deductive reasoning, also deductive logic, logical deduction or, informally, “top-down” logic, is the process of reasoning from one or more statements (premises) to reach a logically certain conclusion. It differs from inductive reasoning or abductive reasoning.

– Deductive Reasoning, definition (Wikipedia)

Noah’s Deduction 1

  • IF God caused people and animals to spread out on the Earth,
    • AND this was before the breakup of Pangaea,
  • THEN after Noah’s flood the Earth was one continent.

We can also test our hypothesis:

Noah’s Deduction 2

  • SINCE the Earth is several continents separated by wide expanses of ocean,
    • AND there are unique floras and faunas in places like Australia,
  • THEN the breakup of Pangaea occurred after the dispersal of people and animals from Noah’s ark or Babel.

Deduction. It’s cool. It gives us Hypothesis 35.
