The Earth Narrative

And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

The peer review driven popular science Earth narrative (SciPop) begins with the premise that the Bible is wrong and hell isn’t at the center. It continues with the idea that the Earth is rotating.

There are several ephemeral strands of wispy logic that are woven into a rationalization of these premises. The evidence is widely known and referred to but only as support for the theoretical SciPop explanation. We will use the same evidence in an explanation which is empirical.

There’s less knowledge about the interior of the Earth than there is about the far reaches of space. Although it’s not really knowledge, it’s an inductive rationalization of evidence to fit a premise. The deepest hole ever drilled is about 12 km. This is less than 2% of Earth’s radius, the equivalent to a few layers of skin cells on our bodies. The only information that we have about the internal structure of Earth is seismological data. We can’t see inside the Earth. There’s no long-range scan that we can do from space to X-ray the Earth.

When you tell people that the Earth is stationary and that the cosmos is rotating (empirical) you get a lot of push back (theoretical). Nonetheless people are absolutely convinced that theoretical (faith) is superior to empirical (sight). There are many things that people point to as proof that the Earth is rotating, but there are three which most people know about.

No, these don’t prove that the Earth is rotating

3. Ring Laser Gyroscopes
