Now this is the genealogy of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And sons were born to them after the flood.
(Genesis 10:1) NKJV
Pangaea was a contiguous landmass but it may have had an ocean which became the Mediterranean sea, the coasts of which became the cradle of civilization.

This is an artist impression of the Pangaea Super-continent. It’s based within the popular science narrative (SciPop) so it has a fictional timescale of millions of years.
However, it’s what the Earth may have looked like after Noah’s flood and before Peleg’s tectonics.
We can identify the day that the super-continent broke apart as the day that Peleg was born. We’ll discuss this at length in the days to come, but it gives a time span of about 100 years during which animals and people groups spread out across the surface of the Earth. This 100 year period is potentially very interesting as it serves as the beginning of the major civilizations of the world, but the Bible doesn’t give us much information about it.
