Benny

I identified with Benny from Crossroads when I was a kid.

Crossroads (later known as Crossroads Motel and Crossroads King’s Oak) is a British television soap opera that ran on ITV over two periods – the original 1964 to 1988 run, followed by a short revival from 2001 to 2003.

I’m thinking of a reality tv show which combines Crossroads, a soap opera, with the premise of The Restaurant at the End of the Universe by Douglas Adams.

I’m thinking of calling it:

The Grill at Tribulation Pass

Benny Hawkins was a popular character in Crossroads from 1975 to the shows original ending in April 1988 and was the local simple minded handyman. He was a comic character and was played by actor Paul Henry. Benjamin Hawkins was born in about 1945. He was a bit simple minded and got work as a handyman. Benny was quite childlike.
