Science Falsely So Called

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

(1 Timothy 6:20-21) KJV

If God testifies that science falsely so called is a thing, then that means that science must also be a thing. Science is that which may be known about the one true God.

The Speed of Plate Tectonics

He stood, and measured the earth: he beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and the everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills did bow: his ways are everlasting.

(Habakkuk 3:6) KJV

The Pangaea super-continent broke up into tectonic plates and these moved into their current locations over the space of a century or so. How do we know? By studying paleomagnetism.

Uniformitarianism Fails

Cutaway of planet Earth showing the relative depth of Noah's flood

And the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth, and all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered. The waters prevailed fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered.

(Genesis 7:19-20) NKJV

Uniformitarianism exists to support the time scale needed in the popular science narrative of godless existence (SciPop) but it’s not a testable hypothesis, so it’s not scientific.

Uniformitarianism Applied

The earth is violently broken, The earth is split open, The earth is shaken exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, And shall totter like a hut; Its transgression shall be heavy upon it, And it will fall, and not rise again.

(Isaiah 24:19-20) NKJV

A classic example of the use of uniformitarianism is the calculation of how much has time has passed since the tectonic plates formed. Supposedly we can tell how fast the African and American continents are moving apart.

A writer, scribe: γραμματεὺς – grammateus

And he said to them, “Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house, who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.”

(Matthew 13:52) ESV

Deduction is a wonderful thing. When applied to practical life situations it’s as straight forwards as: when one door closes, another door opens. When the doors are closed the conclusion that we may deduce is: it’s time to stay put.

Blueprint for a Garden

Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

(Genesis 2:15-17) ESV

During the time that we (that’s me and the Holy spirit) were at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill we were the teaching assistant for Biology 43, Local Flora, for two spring semesters.

Paleaeoecology and Palaeoenvironments of Late Cenozoic Mammals

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

(2 Timothy 2:15) KJV

Our copy of “Paleaeoecology and Palaeoenvironments of Late Cenozoic Mammals” came to us back in 1999 when we were living in the woods beside Jordan Lake in Chatham County, NC.

Next Steps

And they said to me, “The survivors who are left from the captivity in the province are there in great distress and reproach. The wall of Jerusalem is also broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.”

(Nehemiah 1:3) NKJV

We’re in a stable holding pattern. We have been for quite a while. We’re sufficiently disciplined these days as to be able to establish a schedule and stick to it. We’ve written everyday since November 1, 2017. No days off.

Matty’s Paradigm LLC

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

(Hebrews 12:1) KJV

Now there’s another anniversary for this date. Today is two years since Matty’s Paradigm became an LLC. The American adventure continues, and so too does the Christian race.
