Wormwood

And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. Water is more than H2O.
Water is more than essential for life.
Water is the physical manifestation of cause and effect:
You reap what you sow; What goes around comes around; Karma.
Consequences can be bitter as wormwood.

Water of Gall

Water is inherently unstable.
Water is the essence of free will.
Water is the physical medium in which cause and effect are linked.
Gall is defined in a variety of ways, but they represent both cause and effect.
