CSI: Hebrew

From the place of His dwelling He looks On all the inhabitants of the earth; He fashions their hearts individually; He considers all their works.

(Psalms 33:14-15) NKJV

Searching for meaning in the original Hebrew presents a problem of the variety that makes us wonder if the Theologians of old had a clue, and, if they did, did they figure that they could fudge it because no one would notice?

Foundation: מְכוֹנֶ֑יהָ – mechoneiha

Planet earth on the second day as concentric layers of sediment around a gravitational singularity

Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.

(Psalms 104:5) KJV

This is a very specific usage of the word foundation. The root that the word is derived from is makon, which is more broad, however this particular variant occurs in one place only. It clearly established that the foundation of the Earth was established once for ever.

Absolute Frame of Reference

Comparison of Earth's size and internal structure through history

When the exiles arrived at the Lord’s Temple in Jerusalem, some of the leaders of the clans gave freewill offerings to help rebuild the Temple on its old site. They gave as much as they could for this work, and the total came to 1,030 pounds of gold, 5,740 pounds of silver, and 100 robes for priests.

(Ezra 2:68-69) Good News Translation

The idea that the presence of God dwells in a specific place, as a theme, doesn’t get picked up until King David wanted to build a temple. Up until that time the Lord used a tabernacle as the center of worship.

Hypothesis 8

The Pillars of the Earth

He is wise in heart and mighty in strength
—who has hardened himself against him, and succeeded?—

he who removes mountains, and they know it not,
when he overturns them in his anger,

who shakes the earth out of its place,
and its pillars tremble;

(Job 9:4-6) ESV

The pillars of the earth occur in a few places in scripture. We can incorporate them into the Biblical narrative we’re constructing to explain the development of the spherical hollow Earth model.

Radial Shrinkage

a comparison of the size of the planet earth on the third day vs. present day

Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger. Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.

(Job 9:5-6) KJV

It will help to have an idea of the volume of material in the Earth’s mantle because it appears that Earth has shrunk since it was first created, a process known as radial shrinkage.

The Pillars of the Earth

Cutaway of planet Earth showing the crust, mantle, great gulf and hell.

He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’S, and he hath set the world upon them.

(1 Samuel 2:8) KJV

The pillars of the earth” are incorporated into a 3D model of a spherical Earth in which they’re part of Earth’s internal structure. They don’t require us to believe that the Earth is flat.
