Should I Apologize?

I have been writing about the scientific validity of the Bible and the error inherent in modern scientific thought for many years. For a long time before I knew that it was a branch of Christian apologetics. This name has always confused me, although I know its technical meaning. However, I want to tell you what it means to me:

I think I should apologize.

  1. I apologize that you are going to hell if you don’t repent and accept Jesus Christ as your savior (I don’t make the rules).
  2. I apologize that the modern scientific explanation of human origins (the dominant paradigm) is a fake designed to condemn you to hell.
  3. I apologize that the scientific method has been meticulously constructed for the express purpose of keeping you in spiritual darkness.
  4. I apologize for trying to save you from eternal torment.
  5. I apologize for destroying the dominant paradigm with simple logic.
  6. I apologize for showing you that the theoretical foundation of your paradigm is a house of cards built on circular reasoning.
  7. I apologize that everyone thinks that Galileo, Kepler, Newton and Einstein proved heliocentricity. They didn’t.
  8. I apologize that Stephen Hawking used science to validate science fiction, but that’s definitely not my fault.
  9. I apologize for showing you that even though the process of evolution can account for the present diversity on earth, it is not the origin of humanity.
  10. I apologize that science has a dual nature, and just because you can have an iPhone doesn’t mean that you aren’t in danger of hell.
  11. I apologize for attacking the dominant paradigm, instead of just apologizing for mine.
  12. I apologize for having fun while I’m doing it.

If my ministry in any way contributes to your conversion and you repent and put your faith in Jesus Christ, when I see you in heaven, don’t expect me to apologize.

Global Warming? Hell is Expanding

Could climate change, or global warming, have anything to do with the fact that the Bible tells us that hell is increasing in size and will consume the earth?

For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell (sheol), and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains. (Deuteronomy 32:22)

Hell is a very confused mess these days. Most people are convinced that it is a myth that was invented by religion to ensure the compliance of uneducated people. A lot of folk think that is is a fun, exciting place where Satan is in charge, and where they will be able to enjoy carnal pleasure.

Satan is not in Hell. The Bible tells us that Satan, the Devil, walks the earth. His ultimate fate is to be cast into the Lake of Fire.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (1 Peter 5:8)

Hardly anyone believes that hell is at the center of the earth which is odd, because no one knows what the interior of the earth is made of for sure. The deepest hole ever drilled is The Kola Superdeep Borehole on the Kola Penninsular in Russia. The deepest borehole in the project, SG-3, reached 12,262-metre-long (40,230 ft) in 1989 and still is the deepest artificial point on Earth.

The earth’s radius, the distance from the earth‘s center to its surface, is about 6,371 kilometers (3,959 mi). So the deepest hole ever dug is only 1.9% of the radius of the earth.

The Kola borehole reached 12,262 m (40,230 ft) in 1989. The hole depth was expected to reach 13,500 m (44,300 ft) by the end of 1990 and 15,000 m (49,000 ft) by 1993.[5][6] However, because of higher-than-expected temperatures at this depth and location, 180 °C (356 °F) instead of expected 100 °C (212 °F), drilling deeper was deemed infeasible and the drilling was stopped in 1992.[4] With the projected further increase in temperature with increasing depth, drilling to 15,000 m (49,000 ft) would have meant working at a temperature of 300 °C (570 °F), where the drill bit would no longer work.

Why is the earth’s interior hot? What is the source of the magnetic field? What is the core made of? No one knows, and no one can find out, for God has promised:

Thus saith the Lord; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord. (Jeremiah 31:37)

The Bible makes it perfectly clear that hell is down below in the earth and is very hot. However, hell was not made in the 6 days of creation. There was no reason for it. God created for 6 days and was satisfied with the result: it was good, very good. At some point after that there was a rebellion in heaven lead by Lucifer, or Satan, the Devil. Eventually The Devil and his angels were cast out of heaven to roam the earth. This is the origin of the serpent in the Garden of Eden who caused Adam and Eve to sin. The Devil and the angels that were cast out of heaven are the reason why hell was made.

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:(Matthew 25:41)

It would seem that at least some of them went about on the earth making great wickedness and mated with human women to cause a race of giants, or Nephilim, to arise. These angels were cursed for this by being bound by God with unbreakable chains.

And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. (Jude 1:6)

The angels were bound within the earth, and God’s anger burned so hot that the core melted. This is the origin of hell. God originally intended for humans to live forever, there was no death before sin. Our souls are immortal, but because of the curse of sin, our bodies are not. This is why we need a saviour. What happens when a person dies? If they know God, meaning that they are saved or born again, they go to be with the Lord. Be assured God doesn’t want you or anyone to go to hell:

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (Peter 3:9)

But the fact is that some will. If a person dies without ever repenting and accepting Jesus Christ, they die in their sin and there is nowhere else for the soul to go but to hell.

Therefore hell (sheol) hath enlarged herself, and opened up her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it. (Isaiah 5:14)

Hell is growing larger on account of the number of souls that are continually being added to it. It will consume the earth. Any wonder that we are experiencing global warming?

Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. (Isaiah 14:9)

It is time to admit that the nickle and diming going on about CO2 emissions, methane gas, deforestation and multitude of other issues that scientists like to latch on to are not the real cause of global warming. Hell is getting bigger.

I Want to Free Your Mind

When I was a kid the idea that the human race had evolved was still taught as a possibility. Folks were sometimes afraid to admit that they believed it because they understood it’s significance. It is the antidote to God, at least, that’s what people hoped, even if secretly. I was educated in a system that still taught the history of science and it’s milestones as they were passed. I was shown the evolution of thought as humanity began to be bolder and bolder about what they were ready to assert.

That is long gone now. Kids are taught that the evolutionary origin of humanity is real and that anyone who has a different opinion is either stupid or Christian, and therefore an idiot. Not only that but science has a slam dunk on earth being an insignificant speck orbiting an insignificant speck drifting through a vast cosmos.

What is tragic is that people are not taught that believing science is a choice, the equivalent to an act of faith, but it is. Millions upon millions of young people have been deceived into thinking that is just is. Science includes both truth and error. Truth gives us the iPhone, error sends you to hell because you believed the lies of science and rejected Jesus Christ. Evolution, for example, is really two things bundled together as one. On one hand, it is a well documented process of change over time. On the other hand it is revered as the origin of humanity. Truth and error, as there is in so many things.

Science is a prison for your mind. From within the prison freedom looks just as stupid as the Christian trying to help you.

The origin of the human race by evolution is impossible folks, simple as that. But if I give you the key to your prison, what will you do?

You know I love Science Fiction and the cultural icons that we all know. The comparison to “The Matrix,” is just about unavoidable here. Take the blue pill and stay in your prison, believe science and go to hell when your body dies. How does that sound?

Or, take the red pill and you can be free, understand the greatness of our God, trust in Jesus Christ, repent of your sin and have everlasting life.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

Weaving the Cultural Fabric of Our Time

I’m years behind the curve of understanding the impact that self publishing has had in the publishing business.  I’m last one off the blocks in learning the ins and outs of social media.  When it comes to technology and consumer electronics I like mine 5+ years old.  I’m not in a rush here folks, so why do I feel so much pressure?

Pinning one’s hopes on becoming the next Jeffery Archer or Stephen King has probably slimmer odds than winning the lottery.  Self publishing an ebook on Amazon means that the work in question has to be finished and polished.  Such dilemmas.  Looking at the offerings for advice on preparing a manuscript runs the gamut from: ask a friend who is an English teacher to read it, to: hire a team of editors, illustrators, marketers and publicists.

What if I choose none of the above?  From my vantage point every strategy I have seen to date has really just one goal: selling books.  Which is another way of saying: making money.  What if I were to take that out of the equation?  If making money has no bearing at all on my motivation, then why am I motivated?

With the ultra-connected internet of everything breathing down our necks let’s take a moment to think about cultural longevity.  When kids were asked which would they prefer, a long-lasting stable career or to produce a viral video?  Most of them chose the viral video.  It would be pretty neat wouldn’t it?  to have 1 billion views of a video of me tipping over a barbed wire fence and having my pants ripped off.  Hilarious.  Painful, but hey, it got 1 billion views.

The quest to go viral has become viral.

Given this backdrop, of multiple multimedia platforms able to reach about 1.6 billion people around the world, let’s think about this: would it be possible to have our ideas, characters and story, woven into the cultural fabric of our time?  It is theoretically possible to have the entire collective consciousness of internet users be familiar with our product.  It should even be possible to do this without either spending or making any money.

If it is possible to do this it would represent a breakage of the link between wealth and influence.  Traditionally wealth would be necessary to have influence, and a great example of this is the Donald Trump Presidential campaign.  Love him or hate him, the power he has to attract media coverage is because of the influence of his wealth.

Poor people have had great influence, to be sure.  Jesus Christ for example.  He feeds a deep spiritual need and give hopes to millions of people.  Could that avenue be tapped?  Could we find the spiritual truth that people today don’t even know that they need, and use it to become universally known?  Would it be wrong?

These are interesting times to be sure.  let’s not miss something blindingly obvious because we are trying to make money.

So we come back to the thing that has been bothering me. Jesus Christ gave to the church a great commission,

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the World. (Matthew 28:19,20)

Given the power of social media to reach out to people all around the world, it would seem that there is a moral imperative to use it to reach as many people as possible. Let’s face it, all this technology and the power of the internet surely has more value than to simply promote pornography, right? Plus, if our endeavor is within the will of God then His divine power and influence will be brought to bear. Imagine that, we can do like an experiment, a testable hypothesis indeed:

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)

So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. (1 Corinthians 3:7)

Consider this my way of telling the world that I am beginning an evangelistic mission, preaching salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. On the internet, for free.

Who Wants to Attack Hell With Me?

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

(Matthew 16:17-19) KJV

We (that’s me and the Holy Spirit) have a question for you. Specifically for any Christians out there: Who wants to attack hell with us? We have a responsibility to do this you know.
