In the Bible, particularly the New Testament, the states of being alive or dead aren’t applied to our physical body, they’re used to refer to the state of our soul.

Our study of Dragon taxonomy led us to consider the nature, identity and location of Satan. This intersected with our deductive exploration of the difference between soul and spirit.

And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
(Revelation 12:3, 9) KJV

Satan is described as a great red dragon, but he also entered Judas Iscariot. Obviously a great red dragon didn’t enter Judas Iscariot, so how did Satan do it?

Satan (adversary) is described here as a physical* being. However even Christians who are otherwise orthodox and fundamental don’t think that he is one.

My Soul Fainted

When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
(Jonah 2:7) KJV

Jonah’s soul faints from the shock of realizing that his life is over and he must spend forever in the belly of hell at the bottoms of the mountains, a chamber in the lower mantle overlooking the molten core of Earth.

Deducing the Deep

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.
(Ephesians 1:3-6) ESV

God as the Holy Trinity existed with a formless mass of water in darkness, but they weren’t the only ones present. There are passages in the Bible that make it clear that God had already created all human souls.

Deductive Questioning

But now your kingdom shall not continue. The LORD has sought out a man after his own heart, and the LORD has commanded him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept what the LORD commanded you.
(1 Samuel 13:14) ESV

Deductive reasoning is a way to use logic to deduce the answers to questions, but it’s also used to deduce which questions we should be asking. We use a technique which we call deductive questioning.

Testing Hypothesis 27

We find our next clue in Genesis 4. The injured party, Abel, is crying out in pain and anguish in a way that the Lord can hear but Abel’s body is dead and his blood is now seeping into the ground.

Soul and Spirit aren’t the Same Thing

The hand of the diligent will rule, while the slothful will be put to forced labor.
(Proverbs 12:24) ESV

The Holy spirit knows the difference between the soul and spirit, therefore it should be possible for us to know it too. That’s the reward we get for being diligent, and discerning nuance.

According to the Psalmist, King David, we were curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the Earth. A gravitational singularity to be precise. Here’s another thought in the form of a deductive question:
