Do Also to Them

Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

(Matthew 7:12) NKJV

Social Media and the Great Commission: Part 1

  • Follow everyone who follows you.
  • Unfollow everyone who unfollows you.

The golden rule: do unto others as you would have them do to you. That’s pretty simple. We’ve been working various growth strategies on social media for several years. We know what works, what doesn’t work and kept doing the things that work which have a solid scriptural basis.

Part of the routine is to keep the ratio of followers to following as close to 1:1 as possible. This just happens to be a way around the 5,000 following limit on Twitter. If your ratio is close to 1:1 you can go as high as you can go. Here are our current and past totals as an example. These numbers aren’t large by celebrity standards, but we’re a nobody telling everyone that hell is expanding.

Some time ago we started attending a new church. This is a church or two ago. The church is a busy thriving place full of new Christians and new Pastors. Lots of young families and tech savvy people who love social media. It’s not hard to find their Instagram profiles because they all like the posts from the church’s own account.

My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality.

(James 2:1) NKJV

We use an app to look at the people who DON’T FOLLOW YOU BACK. We’ve unfollowed everyone who doesn’t follow us, according to our Bible-based social media growth plan…. except the Christians at the church. It’s astonishing. Not a single one of the people whom we’ve met at the church have followed us back or liked any of our pictures, including the church’s account.

Have we missed something? Or have they? Are we not good enough? They seem to be showing partiality.

We need your financial help but Mattymatica isn’t a religious organization, charity or new age cult.
